For the Dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
For Garlic Butter:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter, warm water, olive oil, and sugar.
Add flour and salt. Mix until a rough dough forms.
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover and let rest at room temperature for 8–12 hours until doubled.
Divide dough into 12 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a rope and tie into a knot.
Place knots on a lined baking tray.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
Mix garlic butter ingredients and brush generously over hot knots.
Serve warm.
