  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Rolls:

  • 8–10 spring roll wrappers or lettuce leaves (for a low-carb option)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant and soft.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper.
  • Add chopped Thai basil and cook for 1–2 minutes until wilted.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.
  • Place a portion of beef filling onto each wrapper or lettuce leaf.
  • Roll tightly and lightly brush with sesame oil if desired.
  • Serve warm with sweet chili sauce or soy dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with chicken or turkey for a lighter version.
  • Thai basil gives an authentic flavor, but regular basil can be used if unavailable.
  • Serve with jasmine rice or as a party appetizer with dipping sauces.
